These things are great!I use one as a document holder for typing, and also as a fantastic book holder, clipboard, and memo board for sticky notes! Great music holder if music stand not readily available. When closed, it will store papers/or thin documents. It isn't heavy, bulky or hard to use, which is important to me as I have rheumatoid arthritis. The elasticized band is great for holding books open (though not usually necessary)or holding papers in place. Simply a great, durable product!

the stand is good until you put a larger book or book of any real weight on it, because the support arm is weak, cheap flimsy and will bend. Great for real small thin books though or for notes.

I've had mine for 20 years. It worked great during college to hold my study books as I worked. I've now used it in my home to hold my recipes as I cook. My daughter uses it when she does her homework or just to use as a clipboard to draw. The page holder has stretched and dried out, but is available directly from the manufacturer. Great buy for the money!
