Step-Hear SH-200 Kit (Base & Activator)
The Step-Hear system is a customizable device which can help the blind navigate in unfamiliar areas. The system is comprised of expandable base units and an activator. When in range of a base, the user's wrist-worn activator begins to vibrate and beep. Pressing a button on the activator triggers a pre-recorded message from the base unit. An unlimited number of bases (for multiple locations) and activators (for multiple users) can be used together. Large scale applications could provide accessibility in a hotel or convention; small scale applications could provide guidance around the home. The improved SH-200 now features an indoor/outdoor waterproof base unit, support for MP3 audio input for recorded messages, support for three different recordings, improved sound quality, and automatic adjustment of playback volume according to ambient noise levels. Base requires AC operation. Solar powered bases are available upon request. This Starter kit consists of one base unit and one activator.
