I purchased this cane in October 2013, then eventually started trying it out in November 2013. I purchased it -- despite the increased cost over a more traditional cane -- because it sounded like a good item for traveling and a nice lightweight 'backup cane' to toss into the suitcase. Within about two weeks, I noticed that the tip would come off if I put any pressure on it in the process of opening the telescope. But opening does require pulling the sections apart so as to insure that the telescoping parts do not collapse on themselves while in use. This was not a particular problem for about two weeks (I just pushed the tip back in place), but, alas, the tip no longer stays in place, but just falls off. The cane is unusable.

I've had this cane for about seven or eight years and find it very pratical. It's lightweight and small enough to throw in the suitcase as a backup. I've used it with a guide dog for those times when I'm not sure how far down I will have to step when the dog stops. The advantage is that it fits easily into a holster on my belt and can be whipped out when needed. I've found it durable.
